The Guancasco Mission

At Guancasco we’ve made it our mission to distribute and sell the artistry of Honduran artists to consumers in developed countries. At the same time, it’s also our mission to care for and foster the success of our artisans and their families in order to improve their standards of living and promote the success of future generations.

We do all of this through ethical fair trade practices and the defined Guancasco principles. To achieve our mission, we do the following.

Promotion: The Guancasco team sells products through our website, through retail partnerships, and through special events.

Logistics: We handle all logistics. The artisan's products are picked up and packed at their location and then sent to a loading dock where the products are loaded into a container and shipped.

Cost control: We offer our services to artisans when it comes to cost analysis. We ensure that each artisan earns enough to pay for food, housing, education, and health care. We also help them achieve economies of scale by financing and buying materials they need for production in bulk, which lowers costs.

Product control and quality: It’s our role to educate the artisans on today’s trends and best business practices. As a result, their work has longer sustainability, products are standardized (dimensions, etc.), and materials are tested to ensure the best quality.

Personal care: In conjunction with our principles, Guancasco promotes the personal well being of our artisans and families through various medical brigades and charitable events, including a recent school supply donation. A portion of all Guancasco sales go toward these personal care efforts, which we believe work to improve the economic situation in Honduras.

In our opinion, simply selling a product is not enough. We distribute and sell products that make a difference.
